Can you try the following please
Let's see what we can remove related to McAfee
Can you go to START>>RUN
type in services.msc
Hit OK
In the new window, look on the right hand side for the following service name

McAfee Framework Service
Double click on it
In the startup type dropdown bar set to Disabled
STOP the service from running
Apply it

Follow these manual ininstall instructions from McAfee's
http://knowledge.mcafee.com/article/332/KB...SAL_Public.html

We've already have done step one:
Stop and Disable running McAfee services:
But just double check

Here's step 2
Uninstall components:
Go to START>>RUN>>type in cmd
Hit OK
At the prompt, copy>>Paste the following below in bold

cd C:\Program Files\Common Files\Network Associates\Talkback
Hit Enter on your keyboard

Copy>>paste
TBMON -Delref
Hit ENTER

Carry on with these
cd C:\Program Files\Network Associates\VirusScan
Hit ENTER

Naiavfin -u
Hit ENTER

cd C:\Program Files\Network Associates\Common Framework
Hit ENTER

Frminst /remove=updater
Hit ENTER

cd C:\Program Files\Network Associates\VirusScan
Hit ENTER

Regsvr32 /u Scriptproxy.dll
Hit ENTER

CSSCAN /UninstallMAS
Hit ENTER

Exit cmd

Then your on to the next step
Delete registry values:
If you don't feel comfortable in the registry, let me know
We can work around it

Be sure to RESTART after the last step

heres the new HJT... everything seems to be off but in my program files there is still a folder entitles Network Associates with the VirusScan stuff still in it and it wont let me delete the excess files that i just want off my computer. when i go to delete the file that it says is in use is shextres.dll if that helps.

You can probably delete the folder in safe mode, but to be safe

If everything is running better
Go to START>>All Programs>>Accessories>>System Tools>>System Restore
Create a New restore point
Name it and click create
When that's done

Go to START>>RUN>>type the following
cleanmgr
Hit OK
Let if finish calculating

Select the 'More Options' tab
and click Cleanup under System Restore
This will clear all later restore points except for the one you just made

Ok the prompts, it may take a few seconds to remove old restore points
Ok again after it's ready and let it finish cleaning

*Will block bad ActiveX Controls
*Block Malevolent cookies in Internet Explorer and Firefox
*Restrict actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer

After installation, Check for updates
After updating, select "Protection" on the Left
Then select "Enable all Protection"
"Check for updates every couple of weeks"
after every update just simply click the "enable protection on all unprotected items"

You have other legit entries that don't need to run on startup
I have a couple suggestions, do you want to venture that route also
