Need some more pure mage advice

Alright I want to be a big staker on my mage. Ill start off by showing my current stats:

45 combat

42 att
40 str
1 def
1 prayer

22 range
72 mage

Ok, now I was testing out my wind wave on some 50's through 70's and I hit 15 max so far. I can do snare but by the time it hits them (if it even hits them), they already hit a good 20-35 hit points on me with the ddp special. By then they just gotta hit me 1 more time cause of my low hits. If I miss my snare I definately lose no doubt.

I know I need to get my hits up, and I will. But aside from that what other advice can anyone give? I want this acc to easily beat people 10-20 lvls above me.

Im gonna get 60 att then work strength so I can start off with a good ddp special, then own with mage. People who have pure mages staking, what do you guys do?

Whats your mage lvl? I hit I would say 50-70 percent. That was at lvl 71, im actually about to be 74 now. Im constantly alching =)

Do you know like how high ancients hits or anything? If im gettin ancients I dont think I can entangle or anything so Ill def need to hit much higher than now.

Do dt, use ice spells on up to level 75 mains, get them to 2 or 3x your stake. Good cash, then save up for either: A) 80 mage or http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'B)\' /> 82 mage, with 80 use entangle and charge, with 82 use ice blitz.

If you want to stay pure, you shouldn't train whatsoever after 80 or 82, because at higher mage levels no1 will stake you and they'll tell you that you're a newb pure http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />

If you dont mind defence, get 70-99 defence, don't train strength or att higher and get 92 mage for blood barrage.

This is so queer. Ive lost so much money staking now. Im using that saradomin spell and losing to pure rangers my lvl. They beat me with spec, without spec, with knives... WTF. Do magers just pure BLOW? Its pissin me off, all this work and I just lose money out of it.

use flames of zammy :]


the reason for high def = others dont hit
high mage = higher chance of hitting [past 80 for charge cause others will use flames and lower your mage]
flames = lowers other persons mage which means you hit more often + its strongest

Oh zammy is better? I was readin runehq's p2p pure and it said saradomin so thats what I got.

What does saradomin and guthix do? I hit 20 max with sara, what does zammy hit alone?

get 85 mage, wear wizard top and zammy bottom wield a god staff of your choice i prefer sara as the strikes reduce prayer,

first off, just train mage until u get it as high as possible, and if this is a p2p then make sure uve done family crest quest and get the mage gaunts...then just use the hghest reg mage spell u0 can that u can afford...like i usually use air wave cuz all u need is a air staff and bloods
