Problem installing any OS

I\'m having trouble installing any Windows OS. 95/98/2000/XP on my machine. I\'ve been able to get into the install of them, but they all give me errors. FYI: I\'ve used dull boot and boot disks everytime, except for 2000, which the CD booted off.

I\'ve formatted my drive, and gotten as far as the GUI interface with Win2K, however, in the middle when it is registering the software components, I get a MEMORY STOP error.

With 95, I get SUWIN errors, and the setup crashes, and XP just doesn\'t want to install.

Does anyone have any ideas?

What kinda of computer do you have.

More than likely you have a memory problem, i.e., mismatched simms, bad simm, etc.  If you have only 1 simm, then get yourself another and try it instead of yours.  Beg, borrow, whatever, just a test.  If everything works then replace the new simm with your original and if everything crashes .... you found the culprit.  Same idea if you have more that 1 simm, only you don\'t have to steal your buddies!

There are memory testing proggies out there ... just don\'t know of any at the moment.

The Master Boot Record (MBR) of your hard disk might be screwd up.
