I would like help with the WIN32.P2P-WORM.ALCAN.A worm

Hi, on Ad-Aware this worm showed up and I thought it was just something that would be deleted but it seems that it wont go away. I would appreciate any help that someone could provide please. I am not too familiar with computer so i would appreciate a step by step detailed please. Dumb it down for me please. Thank You.

Download Hijackthis 1.99.1 from my signature below
SAVE it to your desktop

Double click on hijackthis_sfx.exe on desktop
Click the UNZIP button>>OK the prompt
This will self extract to C:\Program Files\HijackThis
Delete hijackthis_sfx.exe from desktop

Go to START>>RUN
Copy>>paste the following to the open field, then hit OK
%systemdrive%\Program Files\HijackThis
This will open the Hijackthis folder
RIGHT CLICK on Hijackthis.exe and select SEND TO>>Desktop (create shortcut)
You can now run Hijackthis.exe from the new shortcut placed on your desktop

Double click to run Hijackthis.exe
Do a "SCAN and Save a Log file"
A log will open in Notepad
Copy and paste the WHOLE contents of the log  here

Can you do the following please

Download and save [color=\"red\"]Brute Force Uninstaller[/color][/b] to the desktop

• Right click the BFU folder on your desktop, and choose Extract All
  
• Click "Next"
• In the box to choose where to extract the files to, click "Browse"
• Click on the + sign next to "My Computer"
• Click on "Local Disk (C:) or whatever your primary drive is
• Click "Make New Folder"
• Type in BFU
  
• Click "Next", and Uncheck the "Show Extracted Files" box and then click "Finish".
  

[color=\"red\"]RIGHT-CLICK HERE[/color][/b] and choose "Save As" (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download [color=\"red\"]Alcan worm remover[/color].
Save it then transfer to the
same folder you made earlier (c:\BFU).

Go to Start > My Computer and navigate to the C:\BFU folder.

• Start the Brute Force Uninstaller by doubleclicking BFU.exe
  
• Next to the scriptline to execute field click the folder icon
  and select alcanshorty.bfu
  
• Press Execute and let it do it's job. (You ought to see a progress bar if you did this correctly.)
  
• Wait for the complete script execution box to pop up and press OK.
  
• Press exit to terminate the BFU program.
  

Ensure that Ad-Aware SE Personal is right up to date
Run a Full system scan and clean all Critical objects

Reboot your computer

Back in Windows
Download this file - Combofix.exe and save it too desktop
Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Post the log from Combofix

In addition, please post a fresh hijackthis log

Very sorry again for the delay, forum was down a few days then I couldn't return for a few after it got back up

Can you do the following please
Ensure that Ad-Aware is right up to date, then close it for now

Do a "System scan only" with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {31FF080D-12A3-439A-A2EF-4BA95A3148E8} - (no file)

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows
Including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Reboot your computer into Safe Mode. To boot into Safe Mode, please restart your computer. Tap F8 before Windows loads. Select Safe Mode on the top of the screen that appears.
Sign in with your normal user account

==Open the SmitfraudFix folder you extracted to desktop earlier

• Double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
  
• Press any key to continue
• Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.
  
  
• You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.
  
  
• The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".
  

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process.  A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process
I'll need to see these later, by default they are also saved at C:\rapport.txt

If a reboot was not required, remain in safe mode
Run a full system scan with Ad-Aware and clean all Critical objects

Reboot back to Normal Windows

Post back the following please
1. Post a fresh Hijackthis log
2. Post the report from Smitfraudfix>>C:\Rapport.txt

• Download the latest version of  Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.
  
• Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Enviroinment (JRE) 6, The Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
  
• Click the "Download" button to the right.
  
• Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement[/i]".
  
• The page will refresh.
• Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language  and save it to your desktop (12.56 MB).
  
  
• Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  
• Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
• Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  
• Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.

Realtek AC97 Audio - Event Monitor. Slyware file used surreptitiously monitor one's actions. It is not a sinister one like remote control programs but it is being used by Realtek to gather data about customers

You can access your task manager and end Process on ALCXMNTR.EXE
Then navigate to C:\WINDOWS\ALCXMNTR.EXE
Right click on ALCXMNTR.EXE and rename it too ALCXMNTR.EX_
Allow the change, this should help prevent it from running in the background

Do a "System scan only" with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

Reboot the computer
Go ahead and install the latest version of Java from the installer on desktop
After installation, I don't find Sun Java's updater that reliable, check manually once a month
For now, go into Windows Control Panel, double click to open the Java icon
Click on the Update tab
Uncheck "Check for Updates autmatically"
Select NEVER at the prompt and OK it
Exit Java
