Setting CPU Speed: Athlon Asus A7V
« on: February 15, 2001, 01:34:36 PM »
Hello!

I just built a nice box - Athlon 1.2 GHz on an Asus A7V motherboard.  It\'s a second edition board, with software to control the systems, etc.

I\'m just not sure I\'m really running at 1.2 GHz.  What does the multiplier mean?  How do I verify that I\'m really running at a specific speed?

The documentation is kind of thin.  Just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this.

Did it!  Actually, I went to download.cnet.com and got CPUSpeed 1.00 and ran it.  Very quick, very easy.  Yes, when you install an Athlon 1.2 GHz on an Asus A7V motherboard, it automatically senses the speed the Athlon runs at and goes from there.  It WAS running at 1207 MHz by default.  No adjustment required.

Thanks for the info...
