How to keep from being scammed

These are a few ways to keep from you getting scammed hope this is helpful. Please note there are many other methods the more i figure out the more i'll post also if you open this if you can please post i'd apreciate it but you don't have to

Always use an official MM
Have them pm you confirming they have spoken with you
You contact them never wait for them to contact you
Double check you have the correct name

When dealing with money transactions always have them send you a small amount of money
Most of the times people often get scammed because the other person never had any money on their e-gold,paypal,etc. account
When ever dealing with these kind of transactions always have them send you 1 cents.
This only works if you're going first you can also do my intervals
I suggest using an official MM in any kind of trades though.

Many people may not know all the safe ways to buy an account.
An account can be recovered even without recovs!
When you deal with account trades always have the MM log onto the account and make sure everything is right
I suggest having the MM actually recovering the account with the info to be more safe if possible have the recovs deleted at the same time

Never do any 50/50 trades most of the time people scam through this kind of method.

Don't trust anyone but Mods,Admins or Official MM's remember anyone out there can scam like any other person but the people stated have been proven to be trust worthy and there shouldn't be any worries.

Never and i repeat NEVER get pressured into doing a trade you don't want to do. If you feel pressure tell the person how you feel and if they continue pressuring you its possibly a scam in some cases it's not but don't do business with anyone pressuring you to buy or sell something to them.

Always run a background check on the person and on their username they use for their messangers.
You can go to google and type in the person's username and most of the times info pops up about them just simply look through the sites until you find the one they're from and read up on what they have to say basically look for anything from accusations to proofs of being a scammer.

Never go first.
I know you may be pressured or you may feel like you can trust the person enough for you to go first. Do not go first and i repeat DO NOT GO FIRST most of the times these trades are scams!

Always and i mean ALWAYS take screen shots of trades and chat. If you do not know how to take a screen shot simply find the F12 button and next to it is a button that says "Print Screen" tap that button open paint and click edit and click paste if needed i'll post up pictures of how to do it. In many cases screen shots can help you reveal a scammer

Always make sure to carefully go through all aspects of the trade. Know who's MM'ing know what the payment is make sure the MM knows what the payment is. Always ask to see your money before giving info. If you feel like the MM you're using isn't quite the real MM ask for proof if they fail to do so stop all the trading. Make sure you understand how the trade will go down if you feel confused of something simply ask. Always get straight to the point ask how they'll do the trade, when they'll do it, what's their payment, and for any important information needed in the trade.

Never do a trade that's against the rules.
Sometimes you want to do a trade with someone that is against the rules of the site. This is highly unreccomended due to the fact of someone being scammed they cant do much about it because the trade was never recorded and never was on the lines of the rules in the first place.

Neveraccept any kind of programs or file transfers, if you do be sure to scan it a few times and makes sure it's nothing harmful if you download a video the extension will be.avi or .wmv and always more then 10mb depending on the size all picture files are .bmp or .jpg depending on the format it was made

In some very small amount of cases a person may ask you to meet them in some wierd place on runescape or give you a list of directions to do in order to do the trade. This is likely a lure to wild,mole,wolves, or any other monster that can kill your mule. When doing trades it's more efficient to do them in free worlds in lumbridge due to the fact of the home teleport it can be used any where in runescape except lvl 20+ wilderness

In many pbp sells the person may attempt to make you call the number. DO NOT CALL IT WILL CHARGE YOUif they even propose it or start off with "(insert random name) is using the house phone* just forget about the trade wait till they tell you to call and then report them and forget about the trade

When you deal with many money orders you have a high chance of being scammed. There are ways to verify that you are indeed recieving your money. First thing to ask for is the transaction I.D of the money order inorder for you track it and know at all times where it is. You may also want to ask where it was purchased and which postal office it was sent from so you can call and ask where it was designated to be sent. Please note not all postal offices give that information but some will. You may also want to wait until you get your money to hand over your item or just simply use a middleman to hold it
