hi can anyone tell me what the difference between celeron 600/128/66/1.5v and pentium 3 300mhz ? im guessing the celeron600/128/66/1.5v is but arent pentiums supposedly to be faster  in multimedia applications..

I\'m not a pro but The p3 runs at 100 or 133 fsb has an l2 cache of 512 or 256 ,and the Celeron is a 66 fsb and has 128 l2 cache and the level 2 cache makes it faster (or the memory specifications -latencies - ) .
try disabling your l2 cache in the bios and you will  experience the differnce .
The celeron is cheaper.

By the way , there is only a pentium 3 450 , never heard of a pentium 3 300 .See the

Ya RDC is right dude.....there are no P3 300MHz.....it must be a P2......!!!
The only difference between Celeron and Pentium is the size of the cash......that is used to speed up HDD operation.....like for 3D games for exemple.....!!! ;D
