Could it be that Intel has thwarted this effort by threatening motherboard manufacturers? No, that could never be!

Oh, if only!  But examine that article closely and after a few curses for not learning Dutch -- as if French, German, Italian, Russian, Chinese and Japanese wasn\'t e-bloody-nough for this household.  Thank your lucky stars it\'s note in Upper Swahili and not the following:

Chipset AMD 760MP -- The imfamous Mustang!

Yep, the self-same Mustang that AMD announced they were cancelling last October!  So it seems that mock-up is all we\'ll ever see of the mythical Dual, Quad or Many SMP Athlon board until and unless someone can come up with another chipset that will handle the multi-proc load-balancing.  Anyone here a venture capitalist or own a fab facility?  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />

AMD has been promising dual processor capable chips and motherboards since the K6 era... many years.

Maybe this time around?
