My documents deleted?
« on: March 07, 2007, 09:59:33 AM »
Hello,

I was looking for a MS word document I saved about 8 months ago and when I searched for some more of my assignments they were not there!!! I'm pretty sure I didn't delete any of them. I tryied searching for them through the search function but didn't find them.
Why is this? Is there a virus on my laptop or any other problem?

Pls reply.

Thanks

Oh I was wondering whether it could be because I put a password for my laptop? Is there anyway I can get the documents back?

Here's my HJT

well if it's not a virus my guess is that you set your computer(or it defaulted) to delete files after not being used in x amount of time I'm not sure how to fix it try searching MS Help and Support and if you had a keylogger on your computer you could look up the log for the keylogger
The cake is a lie....

u have to have had a keylogger installed on ur comp before when you wrote the documents and no you cannot use the system restore because that only restores programs so i don't believe you can get those documents back now unless they are in your recycle bin but i'm guessing you checked that
The cake is a lie....
