well Microsoft put together for us a collection of different power toys, some from the past made to work in windows XP, others, well best discribed as bad copying job from linux.
http://microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asppost your feed back on the power toys, the good the bad and the ugly.
my opinion after 3 days of use.
Tweak UI
-------------
My long lost friend
I love this tool, and the changes that they made to it, it\'s easier to use then it was before.
The only thing that I can point a finger at is that it is now on the start menu by defualt, I know I can change it, but I liked it better in the control panel. In the words of Adam Sandler \"Are you too good for your home?\"
----------------------
Virtual Desktop Manager
----------------------
WOW 4 desktops to use, but then i started to use it.
The entire time while using this power toy I\'m thinking how bad of a job they did, if you must have this install Linux instead.
The wallpaper is the same on all desktops, boring!
The preview is ok, but it doesn\'t update like i wish it did.
Then just minimizing all the windows between the different desktops, I was disapointed.
all-in-all this doesn\'t even hold a candle to Linux
---------
I havn\'t had time to use any other power tools yet, but please keep this on the windows XP power toys NOT on how Microsft is the devil and Linux rules all.
Thanks for your time.
