Problem with Outlook
« on: May 03, 2007, 01:32:01 PM »
I use win xp pro with outlook as my mail program.
I went to open it to check my mail and I received this message "unable to open default email folders. Outlook could not start because data file to send & receive mail could not be found. to add data file such as a personal folder file, double click the mail icon in windows control panel"

Any idea what happened or what I should do? I am hoping not to lose my email. I know I should back it up but I didn't. Some opened an email with an attachment this am. Now I am wondering if that had something to do with it. I ran norton antivirus and spyware doctor and counter spy both in regular and safe mode neither found anything.

Any help would be great,
Frank

Go to the control panel, open mail, delete any existing profiles. log off, log back on as the user with the new mailbox.

Go to the control panel, open mail, create a new outlook profile pointing to your exchange server. Everything works fine....!
