im guessing nobody knows here either. it is a mystery so far. only thing in the reference help that refers to it is some zhit about having to use the sysprep and i know that is not right.
installing to the default directory is ok (Windows) but if not installing to that dir you have to type the correct path in the .sif file.
this becomes a issue when using the same cd on multiple computers when not all have the same system path.
MANUAL is not a working syntax it seems.
if you want to just have the installation go like a normal install with only providing the PID key you have to have this corrected or else it will choose WINDOWS, a random generate dir, or you will have to manually choose the dir. Only way you can have it behave normally with only providing the PID is to have this working correctly or else it will install to a default.
Huge problem for me is that not all computer\'s have the same system path. some have WINNT some have WINDOWS and some have OS_01_P* so it\'s a issue.
im guessing everybody is ok so far with it controllling this aspect with the winnt.sif off floopy or i386.
i know im not the only one though.
i will find my answer..but surely not on the microsoft knowledge base for ive combed it time and time again.
all points to the windows 2000 syntax but, like ive stated, Manual no longer is working.
