Booting And OS off Of a CD
« on: August 12, 2002, 12:07:24 AM »
Hmmmm, I want to know if there is a way to boot a whole OS (gui, APIs and all) off of a single CD that can be put into the drive as the computer is being started up... I was thinking of doing this with a minimal install of 2k or XP but I have no idea how... Any help is appreciated =)

Had you considered using virtual pc.  This will allow an entire system to be saved as a state that can be restored in a matter of seconds.  You can also run mulitple OS\'s simultaneously.  Hope this is of some help.

Try looking into Microsofts windows PE, not released to the public so good luck. or better yet www.winternals.com and look into the ERD commander 2002.

If you look through the post i help to put up information on how to put this onto a w2k multi boot cd.

Good luck
