?
Especially this
Also this
When you updated your video drivers, did you uninstall your old ones?
Here's a link to your driver
http://ati.de/support/drivers/xp/radeonx-xp.htmlHere's the installation instructions
http://support.ati.com/ics/support/default...uestionID=20870Have you ensured the cable from the monitor to video card is secure?[/quote]
Ok, I did everything. The first 2 steps of burn with monitor. I didn't get the results you were looking for. It didn't do anything. The third step with the monitor it worked like you listed. The monitor is now a lot brighter.
I uninstalled the driver for the video card. In the uninstall instruction it said to look for an entry "DAO" I did not see this, so I continued on. I had to install the microsoft net framework. I then installed the catalyst software suite. When I uninstalled/reinstalled the drive earlier today I only installed the driver, not the suite. Everything seems to be working ok now. The strange monitor display happened intermittently, so I will watch for it. It doesn't clear itself, I have to restart the computer. So I know when it happens while I am away from the computer.
All cables are secure.
Anything else I can do while I wait to see if it happens again?
Thanks for all the help,
Frank
