Defeating the DEll check on WinME

Any news on that? I\'ve searched for Bchk32.exe (like on the Win2000 Dell CD) but it doesn\'t exist. Does the Dell Me OEM check at all? (I can\'t verify that because I only have dell comps). If yes, how can you evade the check???

Yes, it checks.  I have both an HP Laptop and a Dell Laptop.  I can\'t use the Dell Win2K Pro CD to install Win2k on my HP...  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />

Could be worse........

you could have a [censored]y basterd IBM one which isn\'t a winME CD atall its a drive image pro restore of the OPK setup that IBM used.

I can\'t even get to the files in the image unless I extract them to a hard disk on the IBM machine.
I suppose it\'s a lagit licence though

I just thought I\'d let you know.

you think you dell people are hard done by try owning an IBM

Also have any of you guys opened you retail PC\'s up yet
(i.e. IBM, Dell, HP e.t.c) my granny could have done a better build. cables wright in-front of the CPU Fan (:-[) )-<---<

Browse over to C:WindowsOptionsCabs
You should have a copy of the win9x cab files there.
Use a bootable floppy and the files to create a bootable win9x disc.
Dont forget to put all your favourite apps, drivers and updates.
