just a check my cop has been freezing up lately and i want to know if anything is a major problem....the other day i got the "windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer" screen that was the first time it happened.

In the meantime, can you do the following please

go here:
http://www.billsway.com/vbspage/
Scroll down the page
and download the "Registry Search Tool"
Unzip RegSrch.zip to the desktop
Double click on RegSrch.vbs

**If you get a warning from your Anti Virus please ignore it and allow this to run.**
When it starts, you will be prompted to enter a search phrase.
Enter this:

ali.exe

Click OK, it will disappear and won't look as if it's doing anything. When it's done searching, a prompt will come up saying how many instances it found. Click OK, and a notepad will open up. Please copy the contents of that notepad and paste it here.

\' /> After I posted his log i finally re-installed Spysweeper and Norton 360...i scanned with both and norton 360 found nothing. SPysweeper however found a trojan horse (so much for norton 360 for being a top AV) anyway i have a screenshot of what spysweeper found.

Another thing is that when i boot Windows and after i log into my user account a small box at the top left shows up saying loading personal settings for c:system32/ali.exe

or something like that ill edit in a screenshot for you after if i can and if not ill just write what it says...

one more thing is that internet explorer and firefox appear in my current processes list on task manager(when they arent being used)...it hasn't done that before...is there any specific reason?

Do a "System scan only" with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

Hmm....i have a problem i keep ketting this trojan even if i quarantine it everytime it shows up which means its some how coming back...

Any ideas on how i can stop it from coming back?

The entry found related to Trojan-Pushu may be a False Postive, others have reported it also with SpySweeper
The other 3 entries are just cookies

Can you ensure that your definitions for SpySweeper are updated and run a scan please
See if it still appears

You can delete the following
C:\Avenger.txt <-this file
and
C:\Avenger <-this folder

Also Avenger.exe, Avenger.zip
RegSrch.zip and RegSrch.vbs on desktop
