Well i wanted to play but i just wondering whether you need that disk first?

You need the disk to install etc, but after you can boot the game without the disk (although id keep the disks at hand as wow likes to error alot -.-).

And..you can get World Of Warcraft for like a tenner, expansions a little more pricey but there isnt much point to that until lvl 60..
