Plextor CDRW

Had my plextor cd writer(1610TA) for about 10 months now and never had a problem up until this week, when i burn a full 700mb of data to a cdr it burns fine but when i come to access the data on the cd my machine locks up. The cds are perfectly readable in my brothers machine and i have tried my burner in his machine which gives the same problem, this would suggest the problem lies with the drive however all the unreadable cds are a new brand(to me at least) of cdr. They are Mirror 80min/700mb rated at 32x, so is it possible its just a bad batch of cds or the drive isnt compatible with the cds or am i gonna have to send my drive to Belgium for exchange ?

This seems to be problem with CDRW drives.  I\'ve had two do a similar thing, one after about 18 months (generic brand) and one after about 6 months (philips).

There is probably a fault with your drive, so i\'d send it back before your warrany runs out.  For now though you will probably find that different brands won\'t suffer this problem so much, so if you need it now then try some different media.
