33??? zhit i think win95 was...im pretty sure win98 was udma66 or maybe even 100. 2k/xp...this isnt so. This issue is tackled alittle different. It usually depends on your mobo to just transffer the data fast enough. 2k by default is udma100 or whatever.  xp i don\'t know

About which os to use??? look back a page or so and read a thread recently posted that i and josetann replied on.

point of clarificaition.

windows 2000 is UDMA 66 by defualt, but if you are running the proper driver for you UDMA 10, AND SP2 or higher you can then run UDMA 100 just fine.

you can also change the look and feel of windows XP to look just like windows 2000. and XP will handle the newer hardware better then windows 2000 will.

last point is that windows XP is easier to recover from a failed system then windows 2000 is.
