Propably impossible. If it is enough that it is installed with w2ksp3 through cmdlines.txt, check
http://www.tech-hints.com/ie.html#3
The same instructions apply to WMP9

You can try something like:

mpsetup.exe /Q:A /R:N /C:\"setup_wm.exe /Q:A /R:N\"

To use in cmdlines.txt, since quoting is an issue at least for mere mortals like me, just extract it to a folder and call setup_wm.exe directly (or use IExpress).

I looked into this a bit and it didnt look worthwhile. I downloaded the raw cab from windows update catalog and I remember it said something like, \"this is a beta release only, not intended for redistribution\" and something like \"wait for the next full release\" which isnt too encouraging.

omg...i due i need to explain why this is such a bad idea???
omg think of it...have a media system built into your computer that had DRM out the azz. Screw that man.

Do you know what DRM is..and if you do did you know that WMP9 has the STRONGEST AND WORST implimation of it yet??

Here\'s just a real example that can happen.

You have a 40usd capture card, you capture your favorite 30 minute show, then you burn that to dvd.

Ok here is what happens know...with or without you knowing it. First off you can\'t play that dvd back to watch show on ANYTHING but the dvd-r/w that wrote it. Ok that\'s just nutz. Here\'s another wrench. What if your burner breaks, you sell it, or have to return it because it\'s defective to get another one??? Can you play that show now??? I really dunno and as far as I think anybody know\'s for sure is...nobody know\'s!!!

Ok that\'s bad...that\'s real bad...but wait.

What if your dvd-r/w is ok. This means you can still play the movie back ONLY on YOUR OWN PC. Well, that sux to begin with but atleast you can play it right??? \"Oh zhit windows crashed, my registry is soooo fuc\'t up and/or my system file\'s are wacked, and/or my driver\'s all confused, and my computer is on it\'s knee\'s\".  \"I have to reinstall windows\" (this happens more than you would ever believe in the world of M$ and multimedia). Well ok reinstall window\'s...but that know means your no longer playing that movie/dvd back on the same install. So can you play it??? I really dunno and as far as I think anybody know\'s for sure is...nobody know\'s!!!

Look. It\'s cool if you want to try it out or just want to use it every now and then on some pc you don\'t do ANYTHING with regarding multimedia such as: Capturing video, recording video at all, download .mp3\'s, rip & encode .mp3\'s, save stream media. Now if you seriously think that WMP9 is just going to let you get away with that...think again. It might now but it\'s built, and WAITING, to have the DRM fully, 100%, no way around it, your screwed now, up and running on your computer 24 / 7 / 365.

Is this going to change???? No, M$ is all over hollywood\'s dic now. there the only game in town that is offering such a service at such a high threshold EVERYBODY will jump on. That and there the largest company in the field of IT and have more OS\'s installed than anybody else worldwide.

Look at it this way, for it\'s the truth. If you decide to board that train...you can\'t get off until that train stop\'s and let\'s you.

WMP9...horrible. In fact i don\'t even see why you would want it if it didn\'t even have DRM like a mofo. It offer\'s nothing over free player\'s like Eugene\'s or even better IMOP ZoomPlayer. Doesnt even stand up in the same ball park to take a stretch...it doesn\'t even have enough to buy a ticket to even get in.

You install WMP9...good luck my friend...good luck
