Something to add to a multiboot cd with DOS
« on: October 04, 2002, 03:30:35 PM »
Just found this, but there is now a cd recording software for DOS, YAY!!!  It claims to support all drivers from cdrwin 3.8g, so it should work for everyones cdr drive.  This is freeware and in beta.  Personally, i think this would be a great addition to a boot image for DOS.  I currently use GDISK by Symantec for partition creation (more options than fdisk and you can even use batch files, also allows creation and formatting without reboot :-)) NTFS for DOS (a freeware DOS Explorer for NTFS drives - http://www.ntfs.com/products.htm) and now DOSCDRoast (cdr software for dos - http://www.freedos.org/news/doscdroast/doscdroast.html) just thought I would post this, I find this stuff very cool and will definitely add it to a boot cd, maybe someone else would also like these.

cdrecord works in dos
file2cd works in dos
and alot of others
mainly DAO is the biggest one.
www.goldenhawk.com

ive been using DAO to copy cd\'s in dos for years now..works great...cdrecord is tricker but works. there serveral apps that come with DAO that works...in fact you shouldnt need any others.  As far as i know you cannot record in multisession in any dos program...although you can recrod a multisession cd by recording one track than another...but you can\'t record both at the same time.

there might be apps today that can...but not as far as i know..and im already used to DAO so wouldnt switch anyhow. Plus recording one track then another is more flexible to creating image\'s anyhow.
