Computer Freezing
« on: October 09, 2007, 02:46:25 PM »
My computer freezes every time I play games, after atleast 30 seconds into the game or more it automatically freezes and therefore I got to restart each time.

And yes these are the real copies of the game.

What gives you that idea, is it spinning?
Is the inside of the box clear of dust?

It's best to have it fixed if your having problems with it
Also ensure the inside of the computer is clear of dust bunnies

Heat can cause freeze-ups or shutdowns, especially when playing games, heavy processor activity

Other things to ensure
Video, Sound drivers are up to date

Are you clear of malware, spyware on this computer?

If it needs a new fan, definitely replace it >> If it needs replaced, sounds like it does?

While you have the box open, ensure you also get a can of compressed air and clear dust out
Don't let the fans spin from the force of the compressed air, hold them still with a Qtip

Careful inside the inside of the box, watch what you touch, touch a bare metal part of the chassis before getting your hands inside

Edit, are your drivers updated
Are you clear of spyware and malware?

The fan shuts down? Or the computer?
If fan, sounds as if it needs replaced
Did you get latest motherboard and video drivers
After format and install?

What makes you think the sound was coming from the fan?

I can't see your computer from here, you have to give more info
Look at the computer while it's running
Is the fan at the top, in the back of the computer spinning?
Is it dirty or clean

You will also have a fan inside above cpu, you will have to look inside to see if it's spinning
Is it clean of dust??

The box may also have 1 or 2 more fans for additionaly circulation, are they spinning and clean?

How old is this computer? when was the last time it was opened and cleaned?

Im sure it was the fan I opended it up, and it was making the noise giving evidence that it's the fan making the noise, now I think the fan is not running or either going very very very slow and therefore it's shuting down

If your computer is not clean, you should clean it or have it done

Which fan?
Get it repaired if you can't handle it yourself
Heat issues will cause more problems down the road

Well that didn't take to much to get that simple answer  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />
Yes, get the fan replaced if that's what you suspect
the computer needs a good flow of air
