A way to organize this mess

OK, I just was thinking about how its messed up that JB Lee should be mod, but also shouldnt... so i came up with this idea:

mods should all have specific roles, and we should also have a council type thing for rule making and deciding.

ok so here is a layout i think would work and am making up as i type:

4 Mods:

1 (allanon) who has ACP access and can ban people
1 who patrols the forum for rule breakers (jblee because he is weird like that)
and then 2 who can help lead the forums, do some rule breaking justice... but mostly for leadership status. (pureblood.... aragost too if he still comes here *ponders if its too early to use the lame duck jokes and give him shit*)

As for like rules and final say-so on things, i think there should be a council of the most outspoken elites that are mature and think logically, which basically rules out madhatter.

Im not sure how many but like 5 or so people, and they have to make sure every side is heard.


How this whole council thing would be organized could be tricky, but maybe have a meeting every week and have an alternate (approved by allanon i guess) in case one cant make it.

For example on wednesday night at 8 central all 5 people will get into a msn conversation and address issues posted in a specified thread, consider the sides and then make a final ruling.



I think this would make it so we can have active people such as jblee, as well as forum leaders such as aragost all be mods without the worry that they wont do the job. Plus it will take away the factor of being the same "rulers" here as on runecore (which would really be pointless if you look at it)

So yeah... discuss! but dont let this just be another forgotten idea, we really need to figure one out this time.

anyways good idea, but idno if itll be put into place.

im not trying to make it look like aragost and pureblood do nothing, because that isnt true. they just arent like jblee, he reads all the posts and finds the ones breaking rules. not to mention he has weird ass hours of awake time....

however pureblood and aragost are like role models on this forum, they are extremely trusted and respected (pureblood not so much thanks to some people *cough cough*) and are great leaders. They also still do mod stuff as well, you probly just dont notice it.

and you saying they have mod for random reasons is just redonkulous, they both deserve mod very much... its just ttg has become such a mess it seems like they have lost motivation and hope to make it better, plus they got lazy because jblee does everything on runecore and here he cant do anything.

Seriously does it really make a difference if someone posts in the wrong section. I mean, back a year ago when i first came on here no one gave a sh!t if you posted like "omg i got scammed" in the for sale section. Now part of that was we did not have an active mod at all, but no one really cared. The only thing that is really serious is suspending scammers, and spammer/flamers, as well as the occasional thread hijacker. Now im not saying that a mod checking for ill placed threads is bad, but it shouldn't really be at the top of our list. Thats just my $0.02.  

Now that i said that, to address a system for rule breakers, whoever it is that will be in charge of administering punishment can do just that. The other members of the elite team or what ever can report to him with a list of items that need attending, either by pm or mabee by a thread stickied to the top of this forum and the posts can be deleted as they are resolved. As far as a team that decides on things, what is wrong with a forum poll. Anyone can access it at anytime.

because i doubt that the mods would like to give up control of the forum (rule and decision making wise) to so many people... its like congress, you need certain people to represent a larger group because if everyone were involved it would be really difficult and messy.

Not to mention when you just put up a poll there isn't any dialog happening, its just vote and most of the time don't post... there really needs to be an active discussion on rules... just like there should be with possible elites...

yeah thats why i made it a point that these people would make every side heard, and wouldnt all just agree with each other... unless its like an obvious choice or something.

There could easily be a system set up, like where if you have a specific issue with something message one of the people about it...

maybe we could have a non arguer like be in charge of the meeting, make sure all sides are heard, lead the conversation to make sure everythings taken care of and theres no monkey business... it may sound complicated but it is quite simple.
