I'm not sure how much 35 pounds is (I'm American) but anything at or above the nvidia 8400 series will be good.
The 8400 is around $50 USD and the 8500s start at $70 USD.
Cheapest place I've found is here:
http://www.newegg.com/

Well, I looked thru the site you linked to and your are basically stuck with the 8400 unless you want to spend more for the 8500 or higher.
There are some ATI X cards to choose from. Look under AMD and then ATI graphics. The X1050 thru X1550s are in your price range.
Look for the higher "X" number with the desired RAM (128mb or 256mb) and you should find a good priced card that is close to your 8400.

The 8400 is more than likely a better card than the mentioned ATI cards so you may want to stick with the 8400.
There was two 8400s to choose from so try the one you haven't tried already.

Good luck!

The 8800 ultra of course but allot can happen by the time you are ready.
When the time comes and you know your budget, ask the question again.
You might be able to go for something faster.
After looking over your PC specs, I do have one suggestion that you might want to consider sooner than later.
If the PC has Vista installed, you may want to add another gig of RAM.
1gig of RAM is the minimum to run Vista. Games (and Vista) would be much snappier if you had 2gig of RAM installed.
Try to match the specs of the new RAM to your old RAM.
Also physically look at your old RAM first to see if there are 2 matching sticks of 512mb or just one stick of 1gig.
If there is 2 sticks of 512mb then you need to buy 2 more matching sticks of 512mb (known as a Dual Channel Kit).
If there is only one stick of 1gig then buy a single stick of the same and install it in the same color slot as your old one is installed in. This will enable Dual Channel mode and your PC will be that much faster.

Anyway, that's the only immediate upgrade I would recommend for now. Your PC is very stout and really doesn't need anymore for now.
If you really wanted to go nuts you can always upgrade the motherboard to an SLI board and run two 8800 ultras.

Good luck!

One gig of memory is fine for XP although others may say "more is always better".

Have a good one.

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo...roductID=644798

get two of those definitely and buy another gig of ram like quick69gto said.
just replace all the 512's with 1Gigs. http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />
it could also depend on waht monitor u have, becaue i had like a 6yrold monitor lol and i tried running the Geforce 7950x2 Ultra on it, and it just completely screwed up. so u could keep the 8400 and just think about gettin another gig of ram and a new monitor or get the card i recommended above ASUS is a good gfx card dealer.
