well if scamming a scammer is wrong then yded as a elite isnt very good. because i asked hawk eyes how he got his money an i asked him if he sammed sum1 an he said no only washinqton who scammed sum1 before. an he said he asked yded if it wasd ok to do it. (got pic of him saying) but then yded diddnt even know when i asked him if it was aloud. so shouldnt hawk eyes be banned for scamming a scammer because i asked allanon an he said that if you scam a scammer you would get banned... so what difference does it make. hawk eyes scammed a scammer so why wasnt he banned? i have pics if any1 wants to see them. just ask

ok, here is the official TTG and RuneCore stance on scamming a scammer:

It is OK to scam a scammer IF (and only if) the following apply:

1) It is a PROVEN scammer - They must already be banned. You can NOT scam somebody because they have been accused of scamming, there must be enough proof and they must already be banned.
2) YOU MUST GIVE THE MONEY YOU SCAM ROM THEM TO THE ORIGINAL PERSON THAT GOT SCAMMED!

So, if Hawk Eyes scammed "bob", and Hawk Eyes got banned, then it would be OK for you to scam Hawk Eyes if you gave the money to "bob". If the person does not give the money to the original person that got scammed, then they get banned.

But, in this case, Hawk Eyes is NOT banned. Therefor, !azza!, you are now banned scamming.

I will make a global announcement for the RuneScape sections and make sure that everyone is familiar with this rule.

EDIT: Also, if you have a question about the Rules, please ask a mod or Admin. Although the elites are supposed to be familiar with the rules, sometimes it is just best to go strait to the source.

Please read the announcement.

It IS ok to scam a scammer. The problem is that the "scammer" that azza scammed was not actually a proven scammer and was not banned...

It is not yded's fault unless yded specifically knew that it was Hawk Eyes that azza was going to scam. In which case, yded would be an accomplice to a scam, and a punishment would need to be administered.

But, unless someone has some sort of evidence that yded did, in fact, know it was hawk eyes that azza was going to scam, then I see no reason to punish yded.

yded  SHOULDNT be de elited because azza asked my how i make my cahs i said i work hard for it and then he said have you ever scammed anything i siad yes i once scammed a proven scammer who is banned then he thought he could get me banned etc... so i said ask james and yded so i asked him to and he asked yded questions about scamming so i am standing up for yded because he had not part of this he did alert me but unfortunly was after he had taken the items..... ( would like to know if hes banned?).... do i have to host pics of empty acc? and so on i am defending yded and i think he did a nice job alerting me even tought it was too late because something is always going to be better than nothing .... also i have pics of me saying to azza y do it and he replied because i heard you scammed before etc... so i can host just in case

if banned can someone change his sig bec it looks like hes trusted etc....

yes, he is banned

Unfortunately, I am only a mod and not an admin, so all I can do permanently suspend him. I can not truly ban someone. But I can make it so that their account wont work, which is what I did. If you want him actually banned, talk to Allanon or an Admin.

I don't think it is necessary to edit his signature. Sometimes, months later, sigs from people who are no longer active (or people who are banned) can provide valid evidence against suspected scammers.
