Teamspeak Help

Hi,

Does anyone have a teamspeak server of their own that they host on their own computer? I need a little bit of help of running my server by my router(no idea what that means). If you can help me, ill galdly pay like 100k or something.

Get ventrilo. Better codecs, better features (especially after the recent upgrade to 3.0.0).

Ventrilo is free to run off of your own computer, with an 8 person limit. However, if you want more than 8 people at a time, you need to purchase a server from an 3rd party source.

I believe what you are referring to is port forwarding which allows for incoming connections to a specific port number to be routed to a machine on your internal network and behind the router. There is a good guide related to this that can be found here.

I know about vent, But i sorta like Teamspeak. I Used the Guide on there to port foward my Teamspeak.

Right now, Im on my server using my Router Ip, But others Cant join?

^ You need to port forward, currently your on your localhost.

It's pretty simple though... basically, go into your routers page - find applications/gaming (Different on some routers) ... It should look like

Incoming port - Outgoing Port - Protocol - IP - Enable

^ Or something similar to that..

For your incoming and outgoing port type in the same four digit number. This is the port they would enter when entering your server.

For your IP... it should be similar to your routers IP.. Type in the three digit (sometimes less) number that your computer is using on the networked server. i.e. I use 192.168.1.101, while my brother might use 192.168.1.102...

Then change the protocol thingy to either "both" or if you do not have a both option you would have to make two of these, enabling them both.

Then enable em, and click save settings... That should do it.

usually it is better to use a 5 digit, or at least that is what it told me when i did it for utorrent.

Hey,

Thanks for all your input. I DOwnloaded an automatic port fowarder, and it did all the work for me. The port was also 8676 http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />.
