Problems with Video Card?
« on: November 25, 2007, 03:52:48 AM »
The problem is that every once and a while my screen will just go completely black for about 3-4 seconds, then go completely back to normal like nothing ever happened.  This tends to happen when I'm putting stress on video type things, like playing games and whatnot (or my mother starts playing Free Cell >.>[that can't be too resource intensive.. can it?]) Any Idea what could be wrong? Is it the GFX driver? Is it the actual card (please God no..)?

Wait u have a core 2 duo and windows vista dx10, and a agp xpress card? that doesnt seem like a good design for a computer. well anyways ok i think ur problem is, either not enough RAM or i would try puttin 1 or 2 more fans inside. but hmm since this is a laptop i see...umm, hmmm....here go to this and download ur driver 945gm update, and if that doesnt work, sendit to GEEKSQUAD! its a crappy laptop lol, u gotta expect problems.

Ok, I just went to update from the Dell Driver Center and the one they gave me is an earlier version from the one I have now..

Can't seem to find a 945gm update, only a 945gm initial release. http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />

I have 7.x.x.x, the ones they have are 6.x.x.x
