My comp has no source?
« on: December 16, 2007, 08:23:57 AM »
well my comp will not even turn on. By that i mean it shows a black screen with "no source" every time i turn it on.

I have: reset the comp via mains, reconnected all the wires...

i think this could by because my hardrive is fried?

all help is appreciated.

Check the PC itself not the monitor.
If you have no lights or fans, check the power supply switch by the power cord.
If still a no go then the power supply is probably dead.

Power supplies aren't generally that expensive...some get pretty high up there but you could probably pick one up for about $40-$50.

However, before you go out and buy one, check around your house for another power cable, it could be the cable thats shot and not the actual power supply.
