I have tried to connect two different Palm Pilots to two different W2K machines.  Both attempts have failed.
The USB ports are active and when you try to synch the hardware you get the found hardware message.  It shows the type of Palm and starts to synch but if you watch the device manager the Palm shows up and then boom it refreshes and the device is no longer in the manager.  It is driving me bonkers.  I work at a place where a few thousand folks are dying to get one of these contraptions and it does not bode well at this point. Any ideas??
Thank y\'all kindly!

Hi,
Have you tried downloading the newest version of the Palm Desktop software?  Go to Palm\'s website and download version 4.1 of the desktop software.
Delete any previous versions of Palm Desktop on your computer before you install the new version.
Install it, then do a hotsync.  You will be prompted to search for the \"New Hardware Drivers\" by windows.  Choose the option to let Windows automaticaly locate them for you.
You may get one of those \"Driver Not Signed by MS\" warnings, but just click \"OK\" to continue the install.
That is all you need to do.
I am running Win2k on all my computers, and I have a Palm m505 that has never given me any trouble hotsyncing (either at work, on my home computer, or on my laptop).
