What do you think of Looters?

I want to know what your stance on looters is. I quit RS Almost 11 months ago and started playing WoW(Love It!). Someone that scavenges the remains from a battle....basicly, a looter is a glorified turkey vulture.

Looters can be compared to scavengers in an ecosystem.

Scavengers include animals such as raccoons or bears.

Bears have been known to scavenge for wolf kills; eating the remains because they are too lazy to hunt their own food. Scientists believe this may be a reason for bear obesity.

Raccoons are known for going through peoples garbage to find food. This may include food wrappers, cans of food, and pizza left overs from the week before. If your garbage has a hole in it the next morning, theres a good chance a raccoon has been through it.

Scavengers are also known to moderate the ecosystem. However without a keystone predator, the scavengers tend to decrease in numbers. This is because there is no predator to leave the food lying around. This is evident in a forest ecosystem, in which wolves leave their leftovers for scavengers such as the bear to eat. If there were no wolves, (which is the situation in Yellow Stone Park) the bears would have to find a new way of getting food.

Keystone predators such as the wolves also moderate the number of elk or game in that particular ecosystem. However when there are no wolves, there is problems. This problem is evident in yellow stone park where wolves have been extirpated, which means there is a larger number of elk which leads to diseases. This is because the next keystone predator which is the coyote is too small to take down the elk.

The Yellow Stone Park issue is debatable. Environmentalists wish to import wolves from Canada however there are some problems. Wolves are known to kill livestock in that area; which is very bad for the local farmers. Also, the wolves are known to have heart-attacks on the journey to the park because of harsh conditions. However if you don't fill the niche of the ecosystem quick, even more problems will erupt.

So, in closing, looters are people who pick up [censored] that is left in the wild.
