Slow Load
« Reply #20 on: March 24, 2008, 01:06:38 AM »
I removed the XP disk, run Dial-a-Fix again. Restarted computer I DID NOT get a prompt for CD or any screen that asked for "copy files from".  The computer just started up normal no extra screens or prompts. I did try this 3 times. No change. Still no help.  I opened task manager and check what applications were running while I clicked on Help and support, this comes up for about 2 sec. and goes away nothing else happens. TASK, Sysfader   STATUS, Running.

Can you do one more scan for me please

download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Print the rest of these instructions, or save them to textfile on desktop
Close your browser windows

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.

  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.

  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
        * When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)

  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Sorry for the delay

Can you try the following
Right click on the MyComputer icon>>left click Properties
'Advanced' tab > Under
'Performance' click on 'Settings' > Under the visual effects tab > uncheck
the first four check boxes under 'Custom:' > click on 'OK'.

Does that help your problems with Sysfader?

Hello no Problem with time. Have been very busy also. I am not sure what Sysfader does but I don't think there is a problem there.  That is what comes up in the task manager (for about 2 sec. and goes away nothing else happens. TASK, Sysfader STATUS, Running). when I tried to start Help and Support.

The IE Is still slow to load and still having to double and triple click to get it open. sometimes even more clicking is required to get IE to open.

Thanks Rob

Copy and paste these instructions to a text file on desktop
Then close All instances of Iexplore.exe

Can you reopen Dialafix.exe
Put a tick
Empty Temp folders
Fix Windows Updates
(After you tick this one, other entries will be selected, leave them selected)

also tick Explorer/IE/OE/shell/WMP

Then click GO
Let this finish then click EXIT

Reboot the computer, any luck?
If not, close instances of Iexplore.exe again
Then access your Add and Remove programs and as a trouble shooting step
Uninstall Google Toolbar

When it's uninstalled, try IE again, any luck?

Can you try another browser if no luck
Install Mozilla Firefox
any problems with it?
