Ok, so im using a laptop, and i was on the internet and everything was fine at my dormroom, i was connected to the internet no problem with laptop everything like usual. However i was going home today and on the train i turned on my laptop, but the startup was a bit laggier then usual, i had to end task explorer and re-run it. But i didnt make anything of that little mishap. However, now im at my house and i connected to the wireless internet, the startup is extremely laggy, and i cannot get on the internet through my browser, and i also cannot use any messengers. !?!?

My internet is fine, because im running my windows in safe mode, and im able to go on the internet on my messenger, and my explorers,
something is fishy.

and also everytime i try to go on my messengers, or on any internet browsers my zone alarm just gets a system error and fails.

to be honest, im a bit scared.

I would appreciate any help i can get! Thanks alot !!!!!

Download [color=\"#008000\"]Deckard's System Scanner (dss.exe)[/color] to your desktop.
Close all applications and windows.
Double-click on dss.exe to run it and follow the prompts.
When the scan is complete, two text files will open; main.txt, which will be maximized and extra.txt, which will be minimized.

Post back just the Whole contents of Main.txt and Extra.txt

It could very well be ZoneAlarm causing all the problems
Can you boot into Normal Windows
Try uninstalling ZoneAlarm Security Suite from Add and Remove Programs
Reboot your computer afterwards

Back in Windows, for now, can you ensure that the Windows Firewall is enabled in your Control Panel

Do you get back online in Normal Windows?

Let's try the following
Please go to Start >> Run and type or copy/paste the following in the run box:

"%userprofile%\desktop\dss.exe" /daft
Then press Enter

* Click on the Scan button.
* Select everything it is displaying there
* Click the Fix button.
* Then rescan with DAFT again - it should say now that "All associations are OK"
* Close DAFT if you receive that message. This means that it is fixed now.

Afterwards:
Download [color=\"#FF0000\"]ATF-Cleaner[/color] by Atribune.
Save it to your desktop
We'll need it in a bit

Print the remainder of these instructions, or save them to a text file on desktop

I suggest that you close your browser windows at this time

Access your Add and Remove Programs and uninstall the following
Viewpoint Manager (Remove Only)
Viewpoint Media Player
Don't reboot the computer yet, remain in add and remove and uninstall older versions of Java
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
Javaâ„¢ 6 Update 2

Don't reboot yet
Did you knowingly install Family keylogger on your machine?
If not, remove it to from Add and Remove Programs
If you don't see an entry for it
Go to START>>Run>>copy & Paste the next command in bold

"C:\WINDOWS\system32\CTF\uninstall.exe"

Include the quotes, hit OK after
Let me know if you removed the keylogger, or if you purposely installed it please

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

Wait for the "Done Cleaning" prompt
Hit OK
Click Exit

Reboot the computer
Back in Windows

If you feel ZoneAlarm is not expired
Try now to reinstall it
If you want to try free alternatives instead, let me know please

Come back here and let me know how things are running afterwards
Post a fresh hijackthis log

Oh yea.. the family keylogger i had installed myself. and i removed it .. since i dont need it anymore.

All looks good
To update Sun Java, do the following

Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.
Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 6".
Click the "Download" button to the right.
In the Window that opens, select Windows, your Language, check the "agree" box and click Continue.
Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation and save to your desktop.
Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u6-windows-i586-p.exe that you downloaded to install the newest version.

OHH NOOO!! i have a major problem!!

well yesterday everything was running fine again.. but today when i started my computer, my computer doesnt load everything on startup , and when i click on my internet browser or the add/remove thing, it gives me a message that says i do not have permission! .... when i hit ctrl + alt + delete , it doesnt do anything at alll!!! im back in safe mode , so i can use the internet.. but what just happend!?

(also the last time i checked the processes there was something called ScanningProcess.exe running and i don know what that was...)

ok so i kinda did something...

i just did a system restore to yesterday, and it removed zone alarm. and its fine again. so yes you were right it was zone alarm. sorry i was freaking out.. =( .

but uhm yea.. i guess zone alarm is screwing me over pretty badly. Do you think i should try a different ant-virus program?

Most likely your explorer.exe

In windows, to get it back, try going to task manager and ending explorer.exe. Once it's terminated, go to file -> new task/run -> explorer.exe

Once you have that back, go to start -> run -> sfc /scannow

This will replace the system files that are corrupt.

You can also replace the file through the recovery console from your installation CD or by doing a repair of the OS.

Edit : Oops, I've just seen you've received an answer xD.
