Tilde key is not working

Hi everyone.
I have a problem with tilde key (left of the number one). I need to get up console in games like COD4, CS, NvN to check in-game messages and status of Steam account , but it is not working for few days now. Do anyone know what could be a cause of that or if i can 'reactivate' it somehow ? Does the whole key not work. For example does it work while not pressing shift?

Sry, i fixed it http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
In COD4 was disabled in game preferences, i didn't try CS though.
