Networking PC and Mac machines

Okay I have a small home network right now with 3 PCs and a Netgear RP114  4-port hub w/ build in router for my DSL.  My significant other wants to include the new iMac she\'s getting into the network.  Now I have next to no experience in networking with Macs so my first question is, will I just be able to plug it into my current hub and config it accordingly?

Second question, I want, in the near future, to upgrade to an 8-port switch (such as a Linksys Etherfast 10/100 auto-sensing)  with a separate router (maybe a Netgear RT311 10/100 Base-TX) for the DSL.  Any forseeable complications?
