Two Internet Connections onto One network
« on: July 27, 2008, 08:08:57 AM »
hi
I am trying to put two ADSL connections on a network of windows xp computers.
First ADSL router is 192.168.1.1
Second ADSL router is 192.168.1.2

The output of this goes to a switch and from there all my computers are connected.

PCs have configuration -> WinXP, and have IP address fixed from range 192.168.1.10 - 15 (255.255.255.0)
With two gateways 192.168.1.1 & 192.168.1.2

I wish that system should automatically switch to second ADSL's internet if first one's link fails.. or to first system if the link of second fails.

The problem is that 192.168.1.2 is not pinging regularly and there is usually a request timeout after every 6-7 replies....

Is there a way around to it?
thanx!
Tony
