Toshiba Laptop Problem PLEASE HELP!!!
« on: October 31, 2008, 04:14:18 PM »
I have a toshiba a135-s2276 laptop.Whenever I plugged the ac adapter in about 2 weeks ago,it would work but it would have to be in a certain position and if you moved AT ALL it would stop charging the battery and the computer. When the ac adapter is not plugged into the laptop but into the outlet I can hear a ticking sound inside of the ac adapter.Im pretty sure this is a problem with the ac adapter not the jack. Also, do you think if I call up Toshiba and reason with them they will send me another one for free?Because my warranty is out. So what do you guys think? Now I tried a different cord with the ac adapter and it still makes the ticking while plugged into the outlet.Whether or not its plugged in the computer. Its also making a buzzing noise sometimes. If I call toshiba do you think they will sned snother one free of charge even though my warranty is out and it broke on its own?Or does anyone here have a spare?

Since you think it sounds like the power brick of the adapter is at fault
You will more than likely have to replace it
You can try calling Toshiba and see if they will replace it for free, but you will probably not have that much luck
But you can try

If you need to purchase a new one, try ebay
I got my brother the exact same adapter for just over 30 bucks after shipping and taxes

Remember, you need the proper output
I believe your should be
Output 19V , 4.74A

Here's an example at ebay, but I can't vouch for any sellers

It's probably the power brick but you should test to see if it's the charging port on your laptop.

remove the battery, plug in the charger and turn on the laptop. wiggle the adapter around but don't take it out all the way. if it turns off then it's probably the slot on your computer.

good luck with that.
