Hardware Issue
« on: November 03, 2008, 07:56:53 PM »
Okay, everytime I startup my computer it says that I need to back up my files because my hardware is failing. I think I need to replace my C: Drive but I'm not sure, so I'll ask you experts first. I'll give any information, if you need my DxDiag I can provide. Thank you for any help, just tell me what you need and I'll give.

Not sure what message your getting exactly at startup
But it would be a good idea to backup any important files/folders immediately if your harddisk is failing

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

Yes, it is my C: and D: drives that are failing. I don't know how to back them up if they are failing, seeing as that's where i would put back up files.

You need to get an external hard drive, or, if you do not have access to an external, find an old internal hard drive that you might be able to use.

if all else fails, look into web based storage.

i think that might turn out to be more complicated for the guy.
I would be grateful if my pc told me it was about to fail, before it did.  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

yeah, to be on the safe side, you should back up with an external harddrive.
