problems with real player and media player

I tried a couple other videos and sure enough they froze. I hoping if I try another player, maybe just maybe. While your getting your tree, I'll be putting ours up.

Sure, why don't we try another media player
Can you do the following please
Download and save to desktop the installer for Gom Player from the following link
http://www.gomlab.com/eng/GMP_download.html

Double click on it to install
Leave all defaults selected
ONLY untick "Google toolbar" selection when installation

After installing, try running some of your video files
Don't be concerned if most/all icons have changed to Gom icons for Video, etc...
We can change that easily
But at least we can see if you can run all your files

Ok that seemed to do the trick.  I even played the first video on the video test page. I hadn't been able to play that one.

Well, play around with it for a bit, I use it all the time
There's too many features to go into detail
But with the media player open you can Left click the top left corner and check out all it's preferences

Things like, Default screen size when it start's up and such
I think I have mine set to open at 200%
But if I right click on the screen it will fully maximize
Something like that

P.S. You may want to hold onto MalwareByte's AntiMalware
If you do, occassionally, update and run a Quick Scan

If you haven't done so yet, you can delete the following
RegQuery.exe
OTMoveit3.exe
RSIT.exe
Daft.exe
fix.reg

Also, the folders they created
C:\_OTMoveIt
C:\rsit

I suggest that you add SpywareBlaster to your protection software

*Will block bad ActiveX Controls
*Block Malevolent cookies in Internet Explorer and Firefox
*Restrict actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer

Select Manual updating when installing

After updating, select "Protection Status" on the Left
Then select "Enable all Protection" under Quick Tasks
"Check for updates every couple of weeks"
after every update just simply click the "enable protection on all unprotected items"
or again, click on Protection Status>>enable all protection

This tool doesn't provide realtime protection, it adds registry killbits to silently help protect your computer

Ok, I did install spywareblaster like you recommended. Is there any better free antivirus than AVG? DO you recommend doing a online scan every so often?

I don't have the newer AVG installed right now, some have experienced slowdowns with it, not all however
You can set it's scheduler to schedule once a week I believe instead of every day

I use either Avast or AntiVir right now as free scanners on my system
Of course, you would have to get use to a new AV scanner
Since you only want one installed

Sure, doing an online scan once in awhile is not a bad idea
BitDefender is a good one
There are others, some don't remove any entries, like Kaspersky's
It's more informative
But you seem to know your way around BitDefender, you may want to run that one every so often

Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware is not on miekiemoes list
But I'm sure she'll add it one day
