Video Card Installation Issue
« on: December 14, 2008, 02:43:21 PM »
OK, this could be a hardware or software issue. I've recently bought a computer, not too bad of one for its price, but a pretty [censored]ty video card, so I decided to buy one. I bought the GeForce 9600 GSO, when I install it though, everything seems fine, I try to install the disc material however it says that the computer is not compatible. My motherboard is a Dell one E210882 and I'm wondering if this really is because of incompatibility between the two.

That sounds like the motherboard model

Do you know what software won't install?
Is it NVtune?
Did the actual driver install properly?

http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />  that motherboard is definitely incompatible.  Youre attempting to run something a bit high end, on an old style motherboard.  The copatibility issue may be coming from -

1.)  the voltage required by the card, compared with what your mobo can actually allow.
2.)  Your power supply cannot support that card, and would need to upgrade to a higher watt power supply.  (450 - 600 watts)

the problem could be something else though.
