Laptop won't boot
« on: December 25, 2008, 06:45:37 PM »
So everytime I turn on my computer it never boots right.  Sometimes it gets to the Windows loading screen before succumbing to many many colors, and freezing.  I think the graphics card may be dead, which would suck... But if anybody knows of any other cause for these messups it would be greatly appreciated http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />

Well... That happened

What's the make/model of laptop?
Does it have a boot diagnostic you can try?

Can you get into safe mode with it?
Have you got a copy of a live linux CD you can try booting with and see it it will boot
eg... Ubuntu or Knoppix
