internet problem

My computer is connected to the internet via ethernet cable from my router.

My firefox and msn loads just fine but for somereason my Vuze, Itunes, Ventrilo, and WoW can't connect to the internet.

Any reasons you guys know why?

Were you ever able to access WOW, Itunes, etc..
With the setup you have now
Router, etc....

Or did you just add new hardware?
Have you recently installed any new security software?
eg.. Symantecs

Can I also see the following
Open Hijackthis>>Open "Misc tools section"
Open 'Uninstall Manager'
Click the Save List button
Save a list to desktop then copy/paste back here the contents

yes I have been able to acces the previous on this setup. Its what ive had most of the time.

Only new software I've downloaded is Vuze a torrents downloader.

Let's not remove Vuze, but let's remove it's toolbar
It's powered by Ask.com, not the most reputable company

Close down All browser windows
Access your Add and Remove Programs and remove
Vuze Toolbar

Keep all browser windows closed after removal
Then remove older versions of Java
This includes:
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 7
Javaâ„¢ 6 Update 3
Javaâ„¢ 6 Update 5

When the last one is removed
Reboot the computer

Back in Windows
[color=\"blue\"]Updating Java:[/color]
  • Download the latest version of  Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.
  • Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 11".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • In the Window that opens, select Windows, beside Platform:>>Check the "agree" box and click Continue.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation and save to your desktop.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u11-windows-i586-p.exe that you downloaded to install the newest version.
* Download [color=\"#0000FF\"]Deljob.exe[/color] and save it on your desktop.
Doubleclick Deljob.exe.

A log, (logit.txt) should open afterwards. This log will be present on your desktop
Post the contents of the logfile in your next reply together with a new Hijackthislog.

Can you still do the following

Do a System Scan Only with Hijackthis and put a tick next to the following entries:

O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebsearch.com/toolbaredits/...?p=ZUxdm020YYUS

Close down all other open windows
Including this one
Then click on FIX CHECKED
OK any prompts then exit Hijackthis

Download [color=\"#FF0000\"]> ATF Cleaner <[/color] by Atribune and save it to your Desktop.

Double Click on ATF-Cleaner.exe to Run it
Check the boxes to the left of:

Windows Temp
Current User Temp
All Users Temp
Temporary Internet Files
*Prefetch (Windows XP) only.
Java Cache

The rest are optional - if you want to remove the lot, check "Select All".
Finally click Empty Selected. When you get the "Done Cleaning" message, click OK.
If you use Firefox browser
      Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
      Click the Empty Selected button.
      NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit from the Main menu

download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here
Save the installer to desktop

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
       
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
       
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
        * When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
       
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediately.

Looks good
Reboot the computer
Startup may be a bit slower, as we cleared the Prefetch folder
It will speed up as this folder is repopulated

You may want to hold onto Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, up to you
Update and run a scan occassionally
Or you can choose to uninstall it from Add and Remove programs

Also, your option to hold onto ATF-Cleaner.exe
or you can manually delete it

I suggest that you add SpywareBlaster to your protection software
SpywareBlaster  by JavaCool  
    *Will block bad ActiveX Controls
    *Block Malevolent cookies in Internet Explorer and Firefox
    *Restrict actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer
Select Manual updating when installing
After installation, Check for updates
After updating, select "Protection Status" on the Left
Then select "Enable all Protection"
"Check for updates every couple of weeks"
after every update just simply click the "enable protection on all unprotected items"
or again, click on Protection Startus>>enable all protection

In addition:
It would be a good idea to update your copy of Adoble Reader, to help patch security holes
uninstall Adobe Reader 8.1.1 from Add/Remove
Then download/install the latest from Acrobat's website
When installing, if you have the option to untick any Toolbars, etc.. they may add to the installer
Choose NOT to install any, they are not needed for the A. Reader to function properly
That really goes with any free software, if a toolbar is not needed or wanted, why install it
