Hi,,,
so guestsolo fixed everything but i have a issue still with the laptop sort of locking up if you leave it sit for a bout 20mins or so. i come back to the computer and it says various programs have to close and lately it goes to a all blue screen with alot of retro writeing saying windows has to restart and give a few options.. but wont let me do anything at all... i cant reboot i cant press a button or nothing.... so i have to remove the battery. Is this a memory issue or is it a problem with power setting issue as the toshiba power settings take over the windows settings. thats the only 2 things i think it could be.
*** edit,,,, oh ive knowticed if i move the mouse or use the computer it wont have issues at all.

You can better troubleshoot this than I can
Try disabling all the Power options, leave the computer set to Always on, etc

See what happens, ensure you also disable Hibernate

Also, just for a triple check, can you do the following
Download Rooter.exe to your desktop

    * Then doubleclick it to start the tool
    * A Notepad file containing the report will open, also found at %systemdrive%\Rooter.txt. Post that here

ok so hybernate i already had disabled...the laptop uses Toshiba's own power managment program so the windows one is all grey'ed out....the computer has no screen saver but for some reason the screen still shuts off after a few mins or so of no use and comes back after you hit a key or move the mouse, i cant seem to find where to turn the "black screen" off.

Rooter came back clean
You can delete it from desktop, as well as it's folder>C:\Rooter$

Here's an explanation of options with the Toshiba power options accessed thru Windows Control Panel

ok so toshibas instructions suck no matter what i did i wasnt going about it properly and it seems like theres missing steps or something but I always got half way thru unistalling and then had a error...so untill its all unistalled the new program wont install properly...so after messing with it a few different ways i had to system restore it back to before i hacked it up. I think i leave the power setting alone...its just toshiba's explanation of all the settings is great but you can set them individualy in the program at all. very stupid anyhow im getting tired of trying to fix this issue i think its just ganna have to stay like this. Thanks again for your help...if you can think of anything else let me know.

ok so i investigated more it seems with toshiba's power options i cant shut off standby mode (after 15mins) as everytime this happens the computer crashes and locks up and i have to remove the battery and plug to get it to turn off. so what im ganna try and do is see if i can remove the power options from toshiba and use the orig. windows ones. wish me luck

You can't find any of the following?
Quote
Open the Toshiba Power Management utility windows...

In the "Power Save Modes" tab, highlight the Battery Power option you have chosen, such as "Long life, Normal, High Power... etc."

Then click "Details"

Then go to the "Power Save Mode" Tab and you should be able to adjust your settings accordingly.
