« Reply #1 on: December 08, 2009, 09:01:35 PM »
your popup is probably related to Dell support Center running on startup and possibly incompatible
Can you do the following
Download OTL.exe by OldTimer to your Desktop.
 • Close all windows and double click on OTL.exe to run it

If you are running Windows Vista, right click on OTL.exe and choose to "Run as Administrator"
 • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted.
 • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
 • You may need to use two posts to get it all.

NOTE: If you have trouble, or an error message trying to post the logs
Can you upload it to a reply box
In a Reply, select "Browse..." on the bottom right and then navigate to the file and select it
Then click "Upload"

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

Pop up called Sprtcmd.exe!!! how to get rid of it???
« Reply #3 on: December 08, 2009, 10:51:09 PM »
Let's see what the following helps
Go to Start >>Control Panel>>Programs,>>Programs and Features.

Close down all browser windows, including this one
Uninstall all the following
ViewpointMediaPlayer
Skype web features
<-don't confuse this with Skype program itself, this is a browser addon

Carry on uninstalling the following
Dell Support Center (Support Software)

Then reboot the computer
Back in Windows, try installing the latest version of Dell support center
From the following link, download and save to desktop
Dell support center.exe >> Use the 32 bit download

http://www.dell.com/content/topics/global....e?c=us&l=en

Run the installer, after installation, reboot your computer one more time

Any more error messages?

Yes the error messages are still there http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />
To be more specific it says:

sprtcmd.exe bad image: C:/windows/system32/wshom.ocx is not designed to run on Windows or contains and error...

Then skype.exe bad image pops up saying: C:/Windows/system32/pdh.dll is not designed to run on Windows or contains and error..

When I uninstalled the dell support thing..and restarted my computer..the sprtcmd.exe didn't pop up..but when i re-installed from that website..its here now..

Any ideas? I really need to get this fixed b/c its annoying!!! And I'm studying for my finals right now!!!
Can we do anything with the hijackthis stuff?

Thanks for your help so far
