Tracking cookies

Encountered some tracking cookie problems as shown in the AVG scan results above. But the 1st 3 infections still show up in the scans daily after that. And also, still experiencing the doubleclicking thing.
On top of that, i'm using spyware blaster and spybot search & destroy, but found that both have the firefox files unprotected, after i immunize n enable all protections, it will both unprotect the firefox files again on its own after a couple hours or so.

Here's a quote from Javacool, let me know if it's related to your problem

Firefox 3.5 has a new option under both "Clear Recent History" and "Settings for Clearing History" (when Firefox closes) called:

    * "Site Preferences"

If you check the Site Preferences option, any custom-configured site preferences (including cookie blocking, image blocking, pop-up blocks/allows etc.) will be cleared. This includes the protection that both SpywareBlaster and other tools like Spybot S & D set.

The simple solution? Don't check the "Site Preferences" box. In most circumstances, there's absolutely no reason to clear them. (i.e. You probably want to keep them.)

Oh god, i think i went and checked that Site Preferences. I just noticed my copy of Spywareblaster had Cookies disable for Firefox
Doubleclick is part of that protection

Happened after I cleared recent History
I just unticked Site Preferences

Go ahead and clear your cookies in Firefox
Then ensure Site Preferences is unticked
Then enable protection with SpywareBlaster, see if that's any help

NOTE: If you do also use Spybot's Immunize feature, you will want to open it and reimmunize
Some of it's protections for Firefox may have been removed after running >> CLEAR RECENT HISTORY

Erm, previously after you quote me the Site Preferences message,  i did clear clear cookies, clear recent history with Site Preferences unticked. Then i went to SpywareBlaster to enable all protection, reimmunize all protections inside Spybot too. Doesn't seem to help though, still getting doubleclicks while playing games, surfing the net, moving between folders...

You could try setting Firefox as follows
Click on TOOLS>>Options
PRIVACY Tab

In the dropdown menu beside HISTORY (FIREFOX WILL:)
Select "Use custom settings for History"
Then under Third Party Cookes set to "Ask every time"

That should prompt you about the cookie
