Original Win98SE CD bootsector
« on: January 22, 2003, 09:55:14 AM »
Quite a few years ago I bought Win98, but the CD is unfortunately not bootable.
Microsoft then came out with Win98 SE, and a bootable CD !!

Today I\'d like to make my own bootable CD with my licensed Win98, but for that, I need the Win98 SE CD bootsector (and possibly root files).

I\'ve seen the Win98 SE CD boot menu here, which I like pretty much :
http://www.buildorbuy.org/cdbootmenu.html

Could anyone send me the original Win98 SE CD boot sector (win98se.bin) or post a link to it ??

Thanks a lot to anybody who helps.

I think its DRVSPACE.BIN  That\'s on every 98 boot floppy i think.

either way you dont need to know the loader if you got a bootable win98 floppy. Just make the cd using floppy emulation, and use your boot floppy image of the imulation

Do you have an original floppy boot disk for the win98?
If so, use winimage to create a boot image, then when burning your cd use this boot image as this is what the bootable win98 disc has as a boot image, or use the winimage to extract the boot image from the cd, by comparing that image you'll see it's the same as the floppy boot disk.
