Burning CDs

Anyone know how I can burn a copyrighted cd that wont let me make a disc to disc copy? Is there any way I can or do I just have to but another copy of the game? (Its the Sims by the way)

after burning image it still didn't work, when u play the game it says insert cd and cd is already in the cd-r.

DiscJuggler will copy it.

Make sure you have your options setup correctly.  Sometimes you will have to
change your options around but RARELY.

It happens to be the programmers favorite cdr app...and after using it myself for the last
5 years i can say it does standalone in many case's.

However if you plan on prematering
your cds...like burning data via drag and drop or whatever....forget it.  That is the one thing
that hands down is the WORST feature with Disc Juggler.  It just \"wig's out\" too much and
buggy. Not to mention very horribly designed.  It is a slow process to create one and even
if you do you must insert a cd in the drive before hand.  YOU CANT scroll through your burn
que you JUST BURNED either unless you have a blank cd in the drive. You could choose the
virtual drive, but then again this proves it is not quick or well organized.


The above con i mentioned is heavily out weighed.  For instance it will copy under HEAVY
multitasking when no other app will.   Make sure you have the buffer enabled always
and not just for single drive tasks.





Since your new...let me give you my demented overview of cdr apps in my eyes and mine only...

EasyCD...forget it. I saw a user here post said he knew a developer that was working on
the latest version...after seeing the latest version in action i can safely concluded they
need to pay that dev more money because he don't seem happy at work.

NTI wtf ever...nah...in my opinion it's worst than EasyCD...and that say's alot for me.

CloneCD...yes...defiantely worth the buy.  Can 1:1 many images most apps (besides DJ) can't.
However it lacks ANY premastering.  In other words all it does is copy cds...it wont actually
let you burn data backups from your HDD...unless it is already in a .iso/.ccd compt image...which
would require some other app besides CloneCD.

Nero...iffy.  It seem's the more nero progress the more unstable and mundane it gets.  Ok, yes it
supports like 95 zillion options...but none are as powerfull as many other alternatives.  However,
sadly to get those powerfull or atleast flexible alternatives i should say, it requires other tools aswell.
Since nero can do this as it is...it can make for a quick fix.  If you really want to backup data you REALLY
need to keep, then no it's not the correct choice.  In the end with nero, i only used it for maintaining
open session data cds.  I felt that this was it \"goal in life\". Sadly it does much other stuff but for me
only open session data cds seemed worth wild.  It was quick and effective for this.  And, it would
write data on any cd that was started in open session with other apps...most apps do this anyhow,
however not all of them do.  Since i always tried nero for it i knew it would work...so i used it. Today
though i use discjuggler for this.  This is how i know the interface sux :-).  Currently, as in RIGHT NOW,
i am once again using DAO to do this out of a .bat file...i did this before but lost the .bat...so finally made
it again.  If you got the time to make a simple .bat file for DAO (like 2 minutes)...then for open session data
cds this is the way to go imo.

CDRWin...the \"essence\" of .bin/.cue might of started with this app...however i know its going to end with it.
This app is pretty much down the middle...and standard.  You looking to create images that are standard
and will be read by just about anything like pizza box's??? well this is the app then.  It has nice features you wont find in alot of apps too. i.e. the extract sector option...great feature.  Get this apps.

This last one i mentioning...ive just grown HEAVILY acustom too.  Alcohol 120%.  Now it actually doesnt have
its own imaging. It use's .mds (media descriptor)  and .ccd (clonecd).  It really does NOT shine on reading
images.  In fact i tried a game called \"Rolie Polie Ollie\" (kids game)...and it just wouldnt finished reading it
with or without the skip error option on.  It doesnt shine here.  It does make great backups and every time
you use it...for some reason you like the interface more and more.  First time using the interface i can
honestly say i thought it was a poor joke.  However i was dumb.  As i started using it more and more i
noticed how quick and effective it was.    Ok, now this is where the 120% really shines (note only 120% has this)...the 32 virtual roms.   Yeh, ive tried other a few years back that did this and that are still around today,
however this does it GREAT (only better would be DAEMON TOOLS and that only supports 5 vroms).  Since it
can run 32 roms virtually...you could load (in theory) 32 images off your harddrive and your system would
think they are really in a drive.   With having 32 of these you will find yourself just leaving .iso's on your
hdd as in and not burning them out...but burning the .rar archive files instead to a cd to save space and
for error checking.

Daemon Tools...this isnt a burning app so it's not part of that...but it is a vrom. It can load 5 virtual roms and
probably better than the rest.   If Daemon tools supported 32 vroms aswell...i would only use it, DJ, and DAO.
AND ITS FREE!!!

O one last one.  DVDDecrypter.  This thing can burn just .iso's.  However the good thing is that with this app
it is like a 2 second process and your burning...plus it can rip and write DVD .iso's.  AND ITS FREE!!!

O...i almost forgot. The draw back of using dj to 1:1...is that it can take alittle bit.  For anybody who has
used DiscJuggler regularly for 1:1 would know, this could take like a day man.  For real im not lieing. It
could take between 10 minutes...to like 48 hours.  I have had it go myself for 16 hours...man that suk'd.
But hey, guess what, it worked.

Something off the wall i tried with it.  I cut out  a piece of a cd i burned out ...a music cd (remember those).
I cut out like a pizza slice from it.  Guess what...it WOULD of copied...after about 12 hours i just say nahh.
It was working though.  You will see the crc error warning and the supply XX dummy blocks alot if you
decide to use DiscJuggler.

thanks for your time to reply. let me tell ya , i have microsoft train simulator game my own i just want to make back up copy. i tried clone cd, disc juggler, nero etc none worked. do u have any idea??
with clone cd message is please eject and re-insert the cd-rom, select ok and restart application.

I have the same problem trying to back up the EXILE game (MYST III). I tried Blindwrite but it kept giving me errors. I tried Nero (Copy CD) and it also kept saying that there was an error. Then I tried to use Nero (Copy data) using drag and drop, it made copy alright but when I tried it, the computer asked for the original software. So annoying.

So in the end, do we have any software that really works? Thanks a lot.

this happens...you have to let it supply dummy blocks...again this could take
like a day.

Well i might aswell mention that Alcohol 120%, has the options of security.
you can pick what kind of disc protection you want to use.  You could just
go through them all and see if any worked.  Or find relative info to what
type of protection it use's and look for a crack.doc to read how to crack it.
Or if you found what type of protection you could try A120% with that
protection set.

Do you guy's understand what kind of options your burner has and what
the options of the burning apps do?? if that is not too clear read up on that.
it will only take like seriously 20minutes.

As far as CloneCD goes...yeh i have heard that it wasnt copying the latest
games or even some certain older games...i dont know the truth behind
this since i never use it...but im sure it's true.

try CloneyXL maybe to detect protection ? :/ ?? best bet would just to learn
how to crack it on your own...which i know nothing about, but if i had to i
would learn it to do it.

In my opinion there shouldnt be such protections on cd's like there are...its
really just a half-azzed attempt at protection that just inconvience's the
TRUE buyers...the personal pirater's that pirate just for themself never buy
anything anyways...so why even put protection on the games...they just
wont have it unless they can pirate it...right?  Commercial piraters that sell
the zhit are the same fuc'n thing too...but they will sell it wether the game
actually works or does NOT work...so protection to them is a unknown word.

crack it yourself, and post here afterwards how you did it.

It seems like a lot of work going through all these hassles trying to copy a game. I think I just gonna shell out the $$$ to pay for the real ones and forget copying them. Too much time and work.
