Help XP won\'t boot!
« on: March 17, 2003, 05:49:32 AM »
I\'ll give the full story as it may help.  I gained a free copy of XP pro from Uni.  It\'s lagitamate, microsoft let us have it for free because you need it to run VB.net studio.  Being a Software Engineering Student it\'s within microsofts interest to incorruge us to learn there launguges.

Anyway I upgraded my computer a few months ago and XP stopped working.  It failed to boot and gave stop code errors.  I reintalled it from the CD and it worked although I had to phone microsoft to reactivate it.

In the last few weeks I built a second computer out of spare parts and put XP on this just so I had a machine to test stuff on.  I phoned though and activated it.  The next day my main machine stopped working.  Failed to boot with the same blue screen I had before.  The problem I have now is that when I boot from the XP CD I still get the same blue screen so I carn\'t reinstall.  All my Uni work and software is on the hard drive so I wan\'t to aviod a total wipe.  Any ideas?
