can anybody help me? i tried to change my boot screen.....and i didnt what they told me to do.....change that ntskelo or whatever file to a \".bak\" and move it to a diff folder...than i went onto safe mode and moved the new ntskekl file to the windows\system32 folder....than i restarted....adn the new boot screen worked...but it DOESNT LOAD WINDOWS ANYMORE!!!!
IT DOESNT EVEN LOG ONTO SAFE MODE OR ANYTHING ANYMORE....WINDOWS DOESNT LOAD!!! IT JUST A BLANK SCREEN AND NOTHING HAPPENS.....DID ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM??

PLEASE HELP..WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED

ITS ME AGAIN....LIKE IS THERE ANYWAY THAT I CAN GO INTO DOS SO I CAN MANUALLY CHANGE THE [censored] BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS?????


I TRIED THE WINDOWS 98 SETUP CD...I GOT INTO DOS BUT MY C: DRIVE WAS WHAT I HAVE IN MY E: DRIVE...I COULDNT LOCATE ENOUGH THINGS TO DO ANYTHING

AND I DONT WANT TO REFORMAT THE COMPUTER BECUASE THERE HAS TO BE ANOTHER WAY!!!

If you couldn't access your actual C drive, then it is probably formatted as NTFS (win98 cannot understand NTFS, but it can FAT32, which is probably the drive that you can see).  Boot using the WinXP CD, go into recovery console (you may be asked the administrator password), then you can move your .bak file back, and you should be able to boot fine.  If you can't get it working that way, then again boot using the WinXP CD, and choose the repair option...it'll basically upgrade WinXP over top of itself, and should replace those files with good ones (you will need to re-install any updates such as service packs, but your software and data should stay intact).
