Creating Red Hat from download
« on: May 23, 2003, 02:09:03 PM »
Hey all!! http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

I recently downloaded the .iso files for Red Hat 9.0 from this site.  Trouble is, this is my first step into the realm of Linux as far as creating setup CD's.  I have extracted the .iso files, and put them into respective folders.... i.e. Disk1, Disk2, and Disk3.

Question is, how do I make a bootable RedHat CD from this?  I am very familiar with making one for XP, Me, ....etc....  but, like I said, this is virgin territory for me.

If anyone could be of assistance, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

you just wasted time :-(

the first one is the only one that is bootable...and it is already.

so basically deleted those folders and just burn the .iso's.

if you want to make it bootable you can use just about anything to do so...besides sector 20

you can use a dos boot disk and just run the .bat as soon as it loads

So, I just burn the .iso files straight to CD, and I am good to go?

Just a bit of clarification.

Yes, just burn the iso as a normal iso, and you should end up with a bootable cd.
