Xp Boot screen pallate

Is there possibly a link to the pallate files for the boot screens for adobe photoshop, or basically a place where I can get them, because I cannot even find the sizes for these images.

yo i have the pallete for photoshop if you want.
http://www.cstreiter.com/16.zip.  the file inside is called 16.act and to open this pallette in photoshop what you have to do is first of all open up the boot screen images.  They will appear black.  Then in photoshop under the menu of IMAGE >Mode>COLOR TABLE (Will only be available if the file's color mode is Index)  When the color table window pops up.. click the load button and browse to the 16.act file that came in the zip file I made for you.  It will load the pallet and then you can see the boot screen images.  You must do this each time for each file.
Ive tried changing the boot screen in windows xp but every time i modifyed the screen in photoshop, i couldn't replace the bmp in that exe file which contains the boot screen logo.  It says it was an invalid bmp, so I'm not to sure which color mode the bmp has to be or whatever.

I sorta got it working.  What I did was before you change the color pallete like chris says to do, you save the pallete as a .pal file.  then do what chris says, edit the image, then change it back to the original pallete file (it should appear black again)  Now go to save as, then save the new image as something different, and when it prompts for the bmp format make sure it's 8 bits, NOT compressed, os/2 format and it seems to work, it will let me import the new image.

Only problem is that when I replace the file (have to boot under safe mode otherwise xp keeps writing over it) it doesn't work, it just reboots and says windows wasn't able to boot correctly...  maybe because the edited file is larger than the original?  Maybe they changed it for sp1 so that it's harder to get it to work?  anyone know?

im in the same boat as jonny   i found u have to save in os2 form and all  but when u save over your original file  and reboot  an error with bootvid.dll  or somethin like that comeup right when it should show your boot screen.  wonder if someone can do it with xp
